Several Korean stars, including GOT7’s Jinyoung and Squid Game’s Jung Ho-yeon, will make special guest appearances in Netflix’s latest K-drama, Chicken Nugget. The show, which premiered on March 15, stars Ryu Seung-ryong as Choi Sun-man, trying to turn back his daughter, Min-ah (Kim Yoo-jung), into a human after being turned into a chicken nugget. Alongside Ahn Jae-hong’s intern, Go Baek-joong, they embark on a comedy-mystery series to solve the case, all while Go Baek-joong deals with his feelings for Min-ah.

Jung Ho-Yeon plays Hong-cha, Korea’s best food columnist and Go Baek-joong’s ex-girlfriend. Meanwhile, Jinyoung stars as Yoo Tae-young, the older brother of a side character on the show. Netflix revealed that Go Chang-suk of Glitch and Today’s Webtoon fame would also cameo as Go Baek-joong’s father, while Moon Sang-hoon of the series D.P would star as Jung Hyo-bong, a character with connections to the machine that turned Min-ah into a chicken nugget. Other stars set to make appearances include Yoo Seung-mok, Kim Tae-hoon, Hwang Mi-young, Kim Nam-hee, among others.

Chicken Nugget is one of more than 20 original Korean series and films the streaming service plans to release in 2024. The show is directed by Lee Byung-heon and produced by Lim Jin-mo and Min Sung-ah. The trailer for the comedy series has been released on Neflix’s platform as well.

With Squid Game becoming one of Netflix’s biggest hits, it’s not surprising that the streaming giant would look to bank on some of the Korean series’s stars. Fans can only hope that the performances of Jung-Ho Yeon and Jinyoung will make the show more interesting
