Glastonbury Festival has finally revealed its lineup for this summer, which includes all four headlining acts. According to an article, it’s the longest wait for a lineup reveal in the past 17 years, after ticket sales were delayed by two weeks in November. Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA will all take the stage, with Sunday’s legendary slot going to Shania Twain, as previously teased by festival co-organizer Emily Eavis back in October.
Eavis had hinted in 2021 that the event could see female headliners out of four in 2024, confirming that “the legend is female.” She mentioned this while speaking to Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw on the pair’s Sidetracked podcast. The festival drew criticism the previous year for its line-up lacking gender diversity, where male artists almost doubled that of female acts. Passionate fans had speculated that there would be three female headliners this year, as promised by Eavis.
Apart from the headliners, other performers playing this year include LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka, Burna Boy, Disclosure, The Streets, Jungle, Confidence Man, Headie One, and dance music acts like Jamie xx, Justice, James Blake, Romy, Sofia Kourtesis, Orbital, Peggy Gou, Mount Kimbie, Honey Dijon, Eliza Rose, and a B2B from Skream & Benga.
The festival announced, “Here is the first Glastonbury Festival 2024 lineup poster. Many more acts and attractions still to be announced” earlier today. There are sure to be even more exciting acts added in the coming months as well
