Zayn Malik has revealed that he will be releasing his fourth solo album, titled ‘Room Under The Stairs’. The album is set to drop on May 17 and will be the singer’s first LP with Mercury Records. Plans for the album were teased by Malik earlier this month and he has revealed that the aim of the album was to give insight to fans to help them connect with him on a personal level.
Malik has announced that the lead single from the upcoming project, which is ‘What I Am’, set to be released later this week. The album will have a track list, but it remains unknown at the moment. The expectation of fans to see the singer try his hand in the genre of country music stems from his recent collaboration with Dave Cobb, a country and rock producer.
In an interview with ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast last year, the singer hinted that his new album would be different from his previous releases. He revealed that it had “more narrative” as he was making use of his real-life experiences to craft the record. Malik’s last single release was ‘Love Like This’ in July 2020. His last album was the 2021 record ‘Nobody is Listening’, which received a 3-star review from NME’s Dhruva Bolram.
Zayn’s fans are eagerly waiting for his upcoming album release, most especially to know if a new sound will come along with it.
