The backdrops were discovered in a bin near the former venue and are currently listed on eBay as a package, along with two other backdrops. The auction ends March 14th and the backdrops are currently due to fetch £595 with 43 bids.
Following its highly-publicised failure, attendees of the House of Illuminati venture reported experiencing an underwhelming spectacle. Costing families £35 a ticket, the immersive children’s experience was held in a poorly decorated warehouse and visitors were given just one jelly bean and a quarter of a cup of lemonade. Actors’ scripts were reportedly written by artificial intelligence, and staff were accused of sitting around and scrolling through their phones during the event.
One attendee commented, “We were sold a dream and delivered a nightmare…It was terrible, shocking and embarrassing to be honest” while another described how all the children present were crying. The event was described as so poor that police were called to the scene, and refunds were demanded and later given by the organisers, House of Illuminati.
