During her world tour, Olivia Rodrigo made a stop in Nashville and brought out Sheryl Crow to perform “If It Makes You Happy.” This wasn’t the first time the two performed it together, they previously sang together in an intimate set at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville in September and again in November when Crow was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
Crow shared with Rodrigo a few bits of life advice when they performed together. One piece of advice involved enjoying the glory of her sophomore album while she still can and “If you can, just write down one sentence every day, of what happened during that day, because you will someday look back [at] this, and try to remember all the things.” Crow’s other piece of advice was for Rodrigo to stay in the work and stay out of the chatter.
Rodrigo recently launched a reproductive rights initiative, the Fund 4 Good, which she is raising money for during her tour. “The Fund 4 Good works to support all women, girls, and people seeking reproductive health freedom. The fund will directly support community-based nonprofits that champion things like girls’ education, support reproductive rights, and prevent gender-based violence,” says Rodrigo, who will be partnering with the National Network of Abortion Funds to “help those impacted by healthcare barriers and getting the reproductive care they deserve.”
Despite the pandemic, Rodrigo has continued her world tour. Currently, she is on the North American leg of her tour playing to packed audiences. Alongside touring, Rodrigo has released a number of popular hits. Her latest album, “Guts,” has secured her place as a generational talent. Her ability to entertain audiences and highlight important social issues, like reproductive rights, has garnered her fans and critical acclaim alike
