Ray Winstone has revealed that he got arrested for fighting with a man on a motorbike. Speaking to Metro, Winstone said that the incident happened when he was on his way to see his agent as a young adult. He bumped into his acting hero, James Cagney, when Cagney got out of a car. However, when Winstone returned from seeing his agent, he got into a fight with someone on a motorbike and was arrested on Saville Row, causing him to miss the opportunity to meet his hero.
However, Winstone put a positive spin on the story by joking that the incident was appropriate considering Cagney’s many tough-guy roles in films. Winstone also recently described filming Marvel’s Black Widow as a “soul-destroying” experience. In an interview with Radio Times magazine, the actor said that working on the film was fine until he had to do reshoots. He said that producers came down and criticised his performance for being too strong, something he found soul-destroying.
Winstone added that he wanted to give up on the project altogether but couldn’t because he was contractually obliged to complete it. He is next set to appear in Netflix’s Damsel, alongside Millie Bobby Brown, which will be released on March 8. The trailer for the new series, The Gentlemen, also arrived earlier this year, and according to Netflix’s description, it will introduce audiences to a new slice of the world initially brought to life in Ritchie’s 2020 film of the same name
