Gina Carano, the former MMA fighter turned actor, has expressed her struggles to find employment after being fired by Disney in 2021. In an interview with The Post Millennial, Carano said she felt like she was “sitting in the desert” and had found it difficult to get acting work or a new agent.

Carano was fired after she posted a series of controversial opinions online, including comments ridiculing mask mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic and making false suggestions of voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election. She also shared online comments that criticised protesters during the Black Lives Matter movement.

The lawsuit alleges that Lucasfilm harassed and defamed Carano for refusing to conform to their views on topics relating to Black Lives Matter, preferred pronouns, and false claims of electoral fraud. Carano is seeking $75,000 in damages and a court order that would require her to be recast on The Mandalorian.
