Emerging artist Caity Baser recently provided an interview to NME in which she divulged details about her upcoming music. Hoping to showcase more vulnerability going forward, the Rising Star nominee shared that she wants to explore a wider range of emotions with her new material and that it will be more emotional than her previous work while still empowering. She also revealed that, in addition to the mixtape Still Learning that’s set for release on March 15th, she has a lot planned for the year, with touring, festivals, and more new music on the way.
The interview took place at the 2024 BRIT Awards, where Baser sported a red and white L-plate dress to symbolize the message of her mixtape title. Speaking on the event and the ceremony’s Rising Star award, for which she was nominated, the “Pretty Boys” singer shared that she had attended the BRITs alongside fellow nominees Charlotte Plank and Venbee. She also expressed her love for Canadian singer-songwriter, Tate McRae, and her excitement at the possibility of the two of them collaborating in the future.
In her cover story interview with NME, Caity opened up about her personal life and inspirations, including the impact that Katy Perry had on her as a child while she struggled with stage fright. Caity explained that, after attending a Katy Perry concert with her mother and witnessing the performer’s ability to connect with her audience, she felt a renewed sense of confidence and empowerment.
Despite the challenges of working from the United States compared to the UK, Caity Baser remains steadfast in her commitment to authenticity and being herself in her music. With her headline tour set to kick off later this month and appearances planned for Isle Of Wight Festival and other events later this year, Baser’s fans have much to look forward to in 2024
