Jonathan Bailey, known for his work on shows like “Bridgerton” and “Broadchurch”, recently compared the popular video game “Final Fantasy 14” to the works of Shakespeare. Bailey, who voices the character G’raha Tia in the game, spoke to BAFTA about his role and the writing in the game, calling it “brilliant” and “almost Shakespearean”. He even recited a line from the game, saying “We’ll travel the lands, cross the seas and take to the skies upon the eternal wind, and it will be magnificent.”

However, Bailey also revealed the physical toll voicing the character took on him. He had to record dialogue during the day for about a week while still appearing in a West End play at night. The strain caused his tongue to become inflamed, which affected his speech and caused him to sound “a bit lispy”. Despite the difficulties, Bailey expressed his dedication to the character and the game as a whole.

“Final Fantasy 14” is set to receive an expansion called “Dawntrail” this year, which will bring two new classes to the game and take players to the western region of Tural. The expansion does not currently have a release date, but developer Square Enix has promised to announce one when it is set in stone. Additionally, the game recently became available on Xbox for the first time, following an open beta test.

Bailey is also set to star in the upcoming movie adaptation of the hit musical “Wicked”. The first trailer was recently released, showing Bailey alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The film will be released in two parts, with the first part expected to hit theaters in November.
