BTS member V is set to release a brand-new digital single called ‘Fri(end)s’ on March 15th, according to an announcement made by Big Hit Music. The announcement was made by V on BTS’ social media platforms, where he revealed that the upcoming release will be a love song in the pop, soul, R&B genre. An accompanying music video will also be released in conjunction with the track. The music video teaser image features a simple pink graphic with the song title alongside the letter ‘V’ in a circle in the top corner. More teasers are expected to be released in the days leading up to its official release.
This latest single is V’s first music release since he enlisted in the South Korean military for his mandatory two-year service in December 2023. It is also his newest solo work since the release of his debut solo mini-album ‘Layover’ in September 2020. Though he has not released any new music, V recently starred in the music video for a new song from IU titled ‘Love Wins All’, alongside BTS lead vocalist.
IU, when explaining how she managed to get V onboard the filming of the music video stated, “I sent him the music first, and V loved the music,” “He listened to ‘Love Wins All’ and happily decided to star in the music video. He said ‘I love the song, I want to do it’.” This upcoming release has excited V’s fans, who are eagerly anticipating its arrival and hope to see him release even more solo work soon.
