London-based punk duo Bob Vylan have released their latest single, “Makes Me Violent,” as part of their upcoming album, “Humble As The Sun.” The album, set to be released on April 5th under Ghost Theatre, is the band’s first full-length album since their 2022 release, “Bob Vylan Presents the Price of Life.” The song is their third single from the album, following “He’s a Man” and “Hunger Games.”
Described by frontman Bobby Vylan as a letter to England, “Makes Me Violent” speaks to the violence and injustices that are being perpetuated in the country, despite the country’s emphasis on nonviolence. However, the lyrics are filled with hope and resistance, as Bobby Vylan states that the band is staying to give the country hell.
Bob Vylan’s upcoming album takes on various themes, from masculinity to myths about the G-Spot, and is meant to be a reminder that anger can drive change. Bobby Vylan has stated that the album was born from a conversation with the sun, and is meant as a celebration of the people’s ability to endure and overcome.
The MOBO-winning duo will be touring the UK in April and May, with shows in Kingston, London, Nottingham, Bristol, and Wolverhampton. Fans can pre-order their upcoming album from the band’s website or through various online retailers
