Peachlyfe, an artist, and musician, has recently announced the release of their first full-length album, “Permission to Roam,” which will be released via Nene H’s UMAY on March 29th. The album follows their previous artistry in the EP “Boi ¯_(ツ)_/¯,” which was inspired by trans-masculine superheroes. This time, the artist roots the LP’s premise in a sci-fi tale, exploring love, disguise, sex, and fantasy. The album will comprise eight exceptional trance and techno cuts, with experimentation at its core, and a focus on finely-carved percussion and hypnotic clamor.

The lead single of the album “Sentient Intent” is already available for the audience to check out. In a statement, the Copenhagen-based artist explains the album as “something more holistic—breaking away from purely that club-ready sound. It was a conceptual process of translating abstract emotions conjured by the text back into the music, and vice versa.” Peachlyfe has always had a unique vision with their music, and with the new album, they continue to prove it.

The storyline of the album follows Jack, a cis male, and Jane, a transgender woman, through an existential odyssey through five different realms, where they navigate shifting perspectives on the world, losing their sensory understanding of it before landing into one higher non-binary being. The artist explains the album’s fantasy and sci-fi narrative as a surrealist one with more fluidity presenting gender as something of interchangeability.

A printed book version of the “Permission to Roam” story as a limited edition will also accompany the album set to be released at the end of the month. For fans and allies worldwide, the album is available for pre-order now on UMAY’s website, and the lead single “Sentient Intent” is available for streaming on various platforms
