Madison Blackband, an Australian fan of Taylor Swift, went viral after sharing a video of herself crying during the pop star’s performance of “Exile” at the Accor Stadium in Sydney on February 25. The video, posted on TikTok, has since accumulated over 1.1 million views in less than a week. Despite receiving negative comments from social media users, Blackband says she doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Blackband explains how the song “Exile” from Swift’s 2020 album “Folklore” means a lot to her and is like a “safety blanket.”
During an interview with Rolling Stone, Blackband expresses how she posted the video to TikTok with the intention of sharing it with just 200 people, not millions. Many users online criticized the fan for being overdramatic and called out her friends who went to the show with her for not offering her enough support. Despite the negative comments, Blackband says she doesn’t care what anyone thinks and reacts the way she does because she’s a “passionate person.” She also adds that the opinion of people thinking that it’s embarrassing doesn’t mean anything to her.

Swift is currently on a week-long break from her tour and set to start the shows up again next week with a performance in Singapore
