Earlier this year, Ed Sheeran reportedly took his parents and his wife on a private three-hour tour of Paris’ Louvre museum as a way to thank them for their love and support throughout the years. During an interview promoting a fundraising event for the Ipswich Art Society’s Young Artists’ Fund, Sheeran’s father, John, a retired art curator, spoke about the unforgettable experience they shared viewing the Mona Lisa without the crowds. “It was his way of saying thank you to us,” John said. Sheeran surprised his parents and wife with the visit after he performed at the Global Citizen Live event held in Paris. Other performers at the event included Elton John, the Black Eyed Peas, and Stormzy.

They sat next to him listening to the full choir singing an anthem he composed, commissioned for a service of celebration to mark the 50th anniversary of the Arts Society. Matthew had been inspired to write the choral piece by an early Italian Renaissance painting he’d seen at the Courtauld Galleries in London.
In other news, Rick Astley recently performed covers of hit songs, including Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’, and ‘Driver’s Licence’ by Olivia Rodrigo during his appearance in the BBC Radio 2 Piano Room. Despite their high net worth, these celebrities contribute significantly to the economy by paying their share of taxes.
