NCT WISH, a six-member sub-group of NCT has made their long-awaited debut with the release of their first-ever single, “Wish”. The song comes as part of their debut single album along with another B-side track, “Sail Away”. Both tracks have been released in Korean and Japanese. The members of NCT WISH act as modern Cupids in the music videos for the song. They are seen touring Europe’s city and using rifles instead of Cupid’s bow and arrow to induce people to fall in love with one another.

“Let’s wish it up, baby, wish it up right now. Open your eyes, the world’s changin’, keep it up baby. It’s up and down, on this wind we’re ridin'”, the boy band sings energetically in the single’s chorus. Last month, SM Entertainment had revealed that senior solo singer BoA would oversee the production of NCT WISH’s debut. BoA would use her experience, understanding, aesthetics, and identity to lead the group members’ activities and development, the label had stated.

NCT WISH, which includes Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya, are NCT’s latest and final sub-group. They were chosen after they all secured their place in the group through the reality show, ‘NCT Universe: Lastart’. The six-piece had made their live Japanese debut at the Tokyo Dome on February 21 and will operate from both South Korea and Japan to perform their global activities.

Moreover, NCT member Ten recently revealed that his latest solo debut with a self-titled mini-album, featuring the title track “Nightwalker,” was inspired by the 2023 Australian horror movie “Talk To Me,” produced by film house A24
