Netflix announces premiere date for K-drama ‘Parasyte: The Grey’

On April 5th, Netflix will be releasing its newest original Korean drama series, “Parasyte: The Grey,” which is based on the beloved manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki. According to the streaming giant in a recent press release, the new show will be set in a new location with fresh characters and will maintain the imaginative world and profound message of the manga.

The series tells the story of Su-in as she comes to terms with her co-existence with a parasite, while Team Grey, a group dedicated to ridding the parasites of mysterious origins that live off humans, tracks their efforts. Our Blooming Youth’s Jeon So-nee plays Su-in, while D.P. fame’s Koo Kyo-hwan plays a character, Kang-woo, with a particular drive to fight off the parasites while searching for his missing sister.

Parasyte: The Grey is directed by Yeon Sang-ho, who is best known for his breakout film Train To Busan, and was responsible for various projects with Netflix, including Hellbound and The Bequeathed. While the streamer has yet to release an official teaser for the K-drama, the trailer for the series is expected to drop in the coming weeks.

Netflix’s newest K-drama series, Parasyte: The Grey, is exclusively available on the platform and is set to be released globally on April 5th. The show’s cast includes Lee Jung-hyun from Decision To Leave, who will portray Jun-kyung, the leader of the anti-parasite task force “The Grey.” Alongside him, Hae-hyo of Flex X Cop and Kokdu: Season of Deity’s Kim In-kwon play detectives and colleagues
