Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Kingsley Swift, is being investigated by New South Wales police regarding an alleged assault on a member of the paparazzi in Sydney. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday night as Taylor Swift finished her ‘Eras’ tour, and paparazzo Ben McDonald has since filed a police report. McDonald claims he was trying to photograph Taylor Swift as she left a yacht in Neutral Bay, accompanied by security guards who allegedly “pushed us around with the umbrellas.” McDonald claims that Swift’s father added to the pushing and shoving and threw a punch, which left McDonald “sore but uninjured.”
New South Wales police have confirmed that they are investigating an alleged assault by a 71-year-old man on a 51-year-old man at 2.30 am local time, which involved a 71-year-old man and 51-year-old man. They note that inquiries are being made by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command. A representative for Taylor Swift has provided a statement in which two aggressors were pushing towards Taylor and her team, grabbing security personnel, and threatening to push a female staff member into the water.
The paparazzo claims that the statement from the representative is “an absolute lie.” He allegedly refutes the claim that there was another female besides Taylor Swift and says the aggressive behavior came from Swift’s team and not from McDonald and his team. Taylor Swift’s Australian ‘Eras’ tour concluded in Sydney on Monday, 26 February, with her largest audience in Melbourne. With special guest Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift performed a mash-up of ‘White Horse’ and ‘Coney Island’ during her performance at Accor Stadium in Sydney. The Asia leg of the tour includes six shows at the National Stadium in Singapore from March 2 to March 9
