Watch Olivia Rodrigo kick off her huge ‘Guts’ world tour in California

Olivia Rodrigo began her four-year-long ‘Guts’ world tour in Palm Springs, California with her live band and backing dancers. In front of a sold-out crowd at the 11,000 capacity Acrisure Arena, the pop star began her show with an atmospheric black-and-white video of herself running down a hallway. The visuals turned purple, showing a close-up of the singer’s hand knocking on a door before her band kicked into a raucous rendition of ‘Bad Idea, Right?’.

Rodrigo performed tracks from both her debut and second album, ‘Sour’ and ‘Guts’ respectively. Split into four acts, Rodrigo took flight on a giant moon in the third and played the bonus track ‘Obsessed’ for the first time in the fourth act. The main set ended with ‘All-American Bitch’, leading into an encore of ‘Good 4 U’ and ‘Get Him Back!’, which included a choreographed group dance routine, a confetti cannon, and an extended outro.

Throughout the concert, Rodrigo showcased her musical and vocal range. ‘Love Is Embarrassing’ contained elements of Toni Basil’s 80s hit ‘Mickey’, and ‘Teenage Dream’ saw Rodrigo perform on the piano as home video footage of herself as a child played on the big screen.

Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Guts’ world tour will span four years and include over 200 shows across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. The tour is named after her second album, which received widespread acclaim following its release in 2023. Fans have praised Rodrigo’s ability to convey raw emotion, authentic lyrics, and powerful vocal performances
