Reviewing our youth services – we need your views!

Liverpool City Council is teaming up with the National Youth Agency to review youth services across the city. According to officials, the involvement of young people along with their caregivers and parents is crucial to shaping the services in the future. Two quick surveys have been opened in the city to gather this all-important perspective.

Each of the surveys takes only ten minutes to complete and covers the opinions of young people and parents. A survey targeted at parents with children aged between eight and 18 has also been created. The survey covers children up to the age of 25 if they have additional needs. All information submitted is anonymous and won’t identify respondents.

The collaboration comes as the council revealed that the subculture of youngsters that has developed over the past years was partly due to the discontinuation of youth services across the UK. The council has also been drawing on funding and support from a range of partners to help improve provision across Liverpool.

As they continue to work together under the review of the National Youth Agency, Liverpool City Council is set to engage a diverse range of stakeholders, starting with the youth and their parents or caregivers. Their views will pave the way for the city to have a robust and inclusive youth service that meets their needs and responds well to their aspirations and issues
