Machine Gun Kelly has released his first new single since May 2021, titled ‘Don’t Let Me Go’. The song appears to address the rapper’s fiancée Megan Fox’s recent pregnancy loss, with the lyrics including “How can I live with the fact / That my hand wasn’t on her stomach when we lost the baby”. The couple has been in a relationship on-and-off since 2020 and are currently engaged. The track also sees Kelly discussing his mental health struggles, with references to suicidal thoughts and self-harm.
In a recent Instagram post, Kelly shared a picture of his new tattoo – a black block covering up his previous inkings, with a blank cross on his chest. The tattoo artist Roxx later revealed that the rapper attended 13 six-hour sessions in her studio to complete the work. The tattoo was reportedly created “for spiritual purposes only”.
Kelly had recently faced some backlash online following the unveiling of his new signature guitar, which is designed to look like a razor blade. Responding to the criticism, the rapper wrote on social media that he would “never explain my art, because true art is conversational and always up for interpretation”. He went on to express disappointment that his work was often misinterpreted by fans.
