Billie Eilish reveals her new album is finished

Billie Eilish has reached a significant milestone as she recently revealed on her official Instagram account that her forthcoming third studio album is completely finished since it has been mastered. The Grammy-winning pop sensation shared a photo slideshow of herself dressed in a black coat, skeleton T-shirt, and a black balaclava with silver stars while accompanied with the caption “My album is mastered.” During mastering, the final stage of audio production, the overall sound of the track is enhanced to create consistency throughout the album and prepare it for distribution.

Eilish had previously confirmed that her album was close to completion back in December 2023. But it wasn’t until recently that she disclosed that the album was entirely finished. She also opened up about the changes in her creative process while working on her third album on a guest appearance on Dua Lipa’s At Your Service podcast last year.

According to Eilish, everything about the music-making process is different, and her voice has entirely changed since then. She appreciates the “fearlessness” in her younger self, adding that being in the music industry for so long based on her young age made it hard to recognize herself when she grew older. Eilish’s Happier Than Ever album, which launched in 2021, earned her seven Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

Her most recent song release was What Was I Made For in 2023, earning her two Grammy Awards for Song Of the Year and Best Song Written For Visual Media. The pop queen has also been nominated for Best Original Song at the 2024 Oscars, having won the award previously in 2021 for No Time To Die, the theme song for the 25th James Bond film.

Asides from her musical career, Eilish is focused on finding her way in her creative artistry. She shared a conversation she had with Miley Cyrus backstage at the Grammy Awards after winning two Grammys. They spoke about how they often say the dumbest things they could possibly say when they get on stage. Eilish believes it’s hard to accept change, but she’s learned to grow into it and adapt accordingly, which is evident in her new album. Eilish’s forthcoming album could add even more feathers to her already well-decorated cap, cementing her status as one of the music industry’s greatest pop artists
