In exciting news, Liam Gallagher has revealed that he and John Squire will be performing at Glastonbury this year. The former Oasis frontman shared the news on social media, confirming that he and the Stone Roses guitarist will be headed to Worthy Farm for the 2024 installment of the festival. There have been no official confirmations from its organisers as to the acts due to play at this year’s festival.
This announcement comes ahead of a collaborative album from the duo, set to be released on March 1. Gallagher has described it as “the best record since [The Beatles’] ‘Revolver’”. The two Britpop icons came together after Squire performed with Gallagher at his two sold-out Knebworth shows in 2022. They have since released a debut track, ‘Just Another Rainbow’, and the video for their latest single, ‘Mars To Liverpool’. News of their upcoming tour quickly sold out within just 30 seconds.
While it remains unclear on which stage the duo will perform, Dua Lipa, Madonna, Cher, Rihanna, and Spice Girls are among the favourites to be headlining at Glastonbury. In addition to performing at Glastonbury, later this summer Gallagher is also set to embark on a solo tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ breakthrough album ‘Definitely Maybe’.
Although there is no word on whether the two musicians will perform any Oasis or Stone Roses songs, fans eagerly await their upcoming album and performances at this year’s music events
