AC/DC has released a special edition series of gold vinyl LPs in celebration of their 50th anniversary as a band. Featuring all of their albums, the limited edition pressings each come with an album-specific print, making the perfect framing addition for fans everywhere. These collectors’ items can be pre-ordered now and will be officially released on March 15th, with additional drops coming later in the year.
The legendary rock band was founded in 1973, playing their first show at the Chequers Nightclub in Sydney, Australia, on December 31st of that year. Now, half a century later, the band remains as influential and popular as ever. In conjunction with this anniversary, AC/DC is going on a huge stadium tour in the UK and Europe this summer, featuring 21 shows in 10 countries. The tour will support their recent album, ‘Power Up,’ which was released in 2020.
The ‘Power Up’ tour will begin in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, at the Veltins Arena on May 17th and travel all across Europe, including stops in Spain, Austria, Switzerland, and elsewhere, before concluding at Dublin’s Croke Park on August 17th. Fan excitement has been building since the band hinted at a tour earlier this month, asking on social media if their fans were “ready” for new shows. The band’s most recent performance was at the Power Trip festival in California, marking their first live show in seven years.
Despite their long history and continued popularity, AC/DC doesn’t reinvent the wheel with their music, sticking to the style and sounds that made them famous in the first place. This dedication to their roots elevates and solidifies their already iconic status. For fans looking to celebrate their rock n’ roll legacy, the AC/DC gold vinyl LPs are a must-have collector’s item
