London-based DJ and producer Manuka Honey has unveiled her new EP, “3Eternities Beneath You”, set for release on February 29. The six-track project, with a lead single titled “I Like It”, incorporates a unique blend of synths and reggaeton, and features collaborations with Latin Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter La Favi and producer Safety Trance. It also includes contributions from Florentino, who runs Club Romantico — the label that debuted Manuka’s single “777” with La Favi.
According to Manuka Honey, “3E is a conjuring for the club and sonic ritual that revolves around yearning, sex, and moments of the infinite which occur through a suspension of time.” It takes inspiration from the underground reggaeton scene, which, despite its popularity in Latin America and the Caribbean, remains relatively unknown internationally. In an interview with Mixmag, she commented on working with La Favi: “Natalia’s voice has such a strong character and a power to it – she’s such an icon in the scene”.
Manuka Honey, whose real name is Marissa Malik, is the co-founder of SUZIO, a club night in London. Her music often features Latin American and Caribbean influences, and seeks to create a unique experience for those listening. In a statement released on Instagram, she spoke about the vulnerability of sharing her music publicly, calling it her “favourite form of fear”.
The tracklist includes “Manuka lo”, “Sinner’s Dirge”, “I Like It” (featuring La Favi and Safety Trance), “Te Aviso”, “Miniskirt” (featuring Florentino), and “When oracles watch”. The EP is now available for pre-order and “I Like It” can be listened to on various platforms
