Swedish/Australian twins Say Lou Lou have announced the release of their brand-new EP, ‘Dust,’ as well as unveiling a new single ‘Wong Kar-Wai.’ The EP will be the duo’s first new music in three years, with a scheduled release date of April 26th via Cosmos Music. The twin’s previously released a song from the EP, ‘Waiting For A Boy,’ in January of this year.
Representing longing and mystery, the twins spoke of the song’s inspiration, “Wong Kar-Wai is a director who manages to reflect longing and mystery, a master of composition and capturing chance encounters that can be the fate that you needed. ‘Wong Kar-Wai’ is driven by the urge to escape and wishing you were somewhere else, not here, anywhere – that love was like a film, a dream, anything but this tired, sad reality.”
Released only three years after their 2018 LP ‘Immortelle,’ NME gave the LP four stars upon its release and proclaimed, “At just seven tracks long, this all ends far too soon – but leaves us in no doubt that 2018 is a vintage year for Say Lou Lou, after all.” The twins spoke to the publication about the album being “breaking free from boundaries and expectations,” saying, “Us making this record was us going through so many different versions of ourselves. In the music community, it can be viewed as something that’s bad when you’re very aesthetically-driven.”
