Naz, a singer, has released her latest song titled ‘Night Rider’ featuring 88 Birds under her own label called New Eden Records. In this driving house cut, there is a pulsating bassline and jangling piano phrases that interject periodically throughout the song to showcase 88 Birds’ soaring vocals. This song draws its creativity from a unique and multi-faceted approach. ‘Night Rider’ is the third release from Naz in a string of releases linked to multimedia storytelling.
With each addition to the label, Naz and John Carnes write a full chapter of the story the track tells, and share a music video clip illustrating each chapter, creating a fantasy storyline. Naz tells Mixmag that her idea of starting a record label came from her roots in producing music, which is her passion, peace, and oxygen. Since she started her music career, the goal has always been to create a platform where she could have the freedom to release the music she makes, and offer that same freedom to other artists. She loves the story-building and world-building aspect which was based on the idea of taking a fantasy world and making it more powerful and real.
Naz incorporated her love for fantasy, music, and VFX design to create New Eden. The writing process of mixing fantasy with music wasn’t easy but incorporating the amazing VFX design of Jimmy Meneyerji (J1mmy) suddenly tied everything together and made the project more tangible. The story, the world, the sights, the sounds combined to create an immersive space where people could hear the music, read the story, and see those characters and worlds come to life, either at a New Eden show or in their New Eden VR spaces.
New Eden will soon be launching a pop-up event concept later in 2024 to offer an entirely immersive space with visuals, live performances, and VR stations. The first fully formed New Eden book is also scheduled for the final stages of the year. For now, ‘Night Rider,’ featuring 88 Birds, is available for streaming
