Leicester rockers Kasabian have got fans both excited and confused over social media teases involving a phone this week, with the band now looking to release some new music and an announcement in the near future. A social media post featuring a six-second video teaser posted earlier this week by the band shows a phone ringing incessantly with a bass guitar line mixed in with some drums, with the band captioning the post with a some question mark emojis and the date of 21/02, meaning next Wednesday.
Not to be outdone, lead vocalist Serge Pizzorno has since posted his own teaser video on social media, featuring a miniature model of the artist with a telephone and the message: “I love it when you call. It makes no sense at all”. The band previously announced the coming release of their new album “Happenings” last December, as well as a huge show this Summer titled “Summer Solstice II” that will be taking place in their hometown of Leicester.
Pizzorno has been upping his game in recent years, stepping up to the role of frontman for Kasabian after former vocalist Tom Meighan was fired from the band following a domestic violence conviction. According to bassist Chris Edwards, Pizzorno has successfully honed his craft as a frontman and is expertly able to read and engage with any audience. But what will the new music announcement be? For now, we all await with bated breath until next Wednesday when members of Kasabian finally shed a little more light on the situation
