The Libertines announce autumn 2024 UK and Ireland tour

British rock band, The Libertines, have announced a tour of the UK and Ireland set to take place in 2024, with tickets going on general sale from February 23. The 16-date tour, which supports their new album ‘All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade’ set to release on March 15, will begin on September 23 at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre. The band will then continue on to other areas like Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool and more, and play two nights in London’s Roundhouse on October 30 and 31. The remaining shows will take place at the beginning of November, concluding at the Albert Hall Manchester on November 7.

To gain pre-sale access to tickets, fans can pre-order the new album via their website, with pre-sales beginning at 9:00 am GMT on Wednesday, February 21. Speaking in October 2020 about ‘All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade’, Co-frontman Carl Barat said that the band was “facing in the same direction” for the new record. Co-frontman, Pete Doherty, stated that the band wants to write “beautiful songs” and admitted their previous distractions.

This tour announcement follows the band’s news of a massive outdoor summer show set to take place on Brighton Beach. Although already touted as a comeback, the album has been met by expectations that it may retrieve the greatness of their debut album, ‘Up the Bracket’. The band’s ongoing struggle with drugs and interpersonal conflict is often discussed in the press; a contentious issue that may have contributed to their breakup in 2004.

The band, which has revolutionized the garage rock scene of the early 2000s, has been a staple in culture and the media. However, their mark is most profound in the UK, where they’ve built a significant local following. With their London residence having a considerable cultural impact, the band has become synonymous with the modern age of British rock music
