French producer Gesaffelstein is set to release his third studio album, ‘GAMMA’, next month via Sony Music. It will be the artist’s first album in over five years, following 2019’s ‘Hyperion’, which reached number 10 in the US dance charts. The album, which is scheduled for release on March 29, will feature 11 tracks that take a surrealist approach to hard dance music while harking back to the producer’s “raw industrial sound.”
The album also showcases a two-minute trailer directed by Jordan Hemingway, who previously worked with Post Malone and FKA Twigs, among others. The trailer can be watched on YouTube. The artist’s last album featured collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Terrace Martin, and The Weeknd; the latter’s track became a chart-topper that went double platinum in the US and garnered over a billion combined global streams.
Last year, Skrillex shared several photos on Instagram with Gesaffelstein, leading to speculation that they might have collaborated on a new album. Later on, Skrillex tweeted, “Gesaffelstein’s just played us his new album my gaaawd,” which was the first teaser for Gesaffelstein’s upcoming album.
Gesaffelstein is ready to take on the live stage at this year’s Coachella, showcasing his musical talent for the first time since 2019 at the LA festival. His performance from his last appearance at the festival has already been released in full following the announcement. The artist has also released the track list for ‘GAMMA’, and the album is now available for pre-order
