Netflix has given fans a sneak peek of its upcoming Korean comedy series, “Chicken Nugget,” starring Ryu Seung-ryong. Set to premiere on March 15th, the show follows Choi Seon-man, played by Seung-ryong, who is trying to reverse an accident that turns his daughter, Choi Min-ah, into a chicken nugget. He is joined on his journey by his intern, Go Baek-joong, played by Ahn Jae-hong, who has a crush on Min-ah, as they attempt to return the young woman to her human form.
Seung-ryong had previously starred in Netflix’s Kingdom, and Jae-hong in Mask Girl and Kingdom season two. The cast also features rising stars Kim Yoo-jung and Jung Ho-yeon in supporting roles. Although the streaming giant has yet to release a full trailer for the show, it has shared a teaser that sets up the absurdist plot, which involves a storage machine invented by Seon-man.
“Chicken Nugget” is one of several original Korean series and films set to be released on Netflix in the next few years. The streaming service plans to release over 20 shows and movies by 2024, including the third season of “Sweet Home,” season two of “Gyeongseong Creature,” and season two of “Hellbound.”
