The Swansea Arena House Party shares line-up for grassroots music fundraising event

The Swansea Music Venues Working Group has announced its flagship event, which will be called The Swansea Arena House Party. The event’s proceeds will support local grassroots music venues in the area. This announcement follows two years of test events and was made in partnership with Music Venue Trust (MVT). It is expected to have a fundraising goal of £20,000, with ticket prices set at £10, and all proceeds will be donated to the trust.

The Swansea Arena House Party is the first event launched by the Swansea Music Venues Working Group. The group involves multiple music venues across the city, dedicated to boosting the local music scene and creating opportunities for emerging artists in the area. The event is set to take place on February 25 and will feature workshops, including topics such as developing a live show, creating pop art album covers, noise makers taster DJ sessions, graffiti lettering, and drumming.

The lineup for the event is composed of local emerging artists selected by Swansea Arena’s Creative Learning Producer, James Morgan. It will include Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, The Fiends, Monet, Grey FLX, Kikker, Mojo Jnr., Rainyday Rainbow, and Pseudo Cool as the main stage headliners. Additionally, stalls hosted by local music venues and creatives, including photographers and videographers, will be present. After-parties will be hosted by partner venues such as Elysium, Hippos, and Bunkhouse, with ticket prices ranging from free to £4.

Director of Swansea Arena Lisa Mart said, “In August last year, we started monthly meetings with the local grassroots music venues where we started to discuss issues, obstacles, and opportunities that we all share.” She added, “At the first meeting, the other city centre venue leaders highlighted just how important the work of the Music Venue Trust was to the GMVs locally.”
