The latest update to Escape From Tarkov by Battlestate Games has received a negative reaction from fans, causing the developer to roll back the update. The developer used X to reveal that the game would be unplayable while the team worked to roll back Escape From Tarkov, with the action commencing at 2PM GMT (9AM EST). The rollback would take around two hours, with any player progress achieved in the latest version of the game remaining unaffected.

“After the patch installation, critical issues and bugs were discovered, leading us to this decision,” the developer shared. “The content of Patch 0.14.1.0 will be released in future updates after adjustments with consideration of community feedback.” The update had “broken” armour and ammo, which, in turn, prevented damage from being done to the player’s upper body and disabling fragmentation of ammo.

The update contained alterations to how armour interacted with damage. However, there was no mention of the removal of fragmentation. As a result, the feedback from fans on the recoil of the pistols, shotguns, and SKS carbine was negative, and microtransactions were added for the first time to expand in-game inventory space, and offline co-op mode, causing further controversy.
