Singer Billie Eilish recently shared some insight into a backstage conversation with Miley Cyrus during the Grammy Awards. Eilish spoke with Entertainment Tonight and revealed that they had commiserated over struggling with what to say when accepting awards. Eilish said that Cyrus asked her if she also feels the need to say the “dumbest shit” on stage, to which Eilish replied that she understood and felt the same way.
During the same event, Cyrus won her first Grammy for Record of the Year for her song “Flowers”. In her acceptance speech, Cyrus said she hoped the win wouldn’t change anything because her life was already beautiful. She also performed the song at the ceremony for the first time on television.
Eilish won Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media for her song “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack. She dedicated her awards to the film’s director, Greta Gerwig. Eilish and her brother FINNEAS also gave updates on Eilish’s upcoming third album, saying that it’s 99% complete and on the way soon. They shared that the album would represent their natural progression and has a lot of feeling.
Eilish won the Best Original Song Oscar in 2021 for “No Time to Die”, the theme song for the 25th James Bond film. She has also been nominated for another Best Original Song Oscar in 2024.
