Kanye West has been called out as an “anti-Semite” by Ozzy Osbourne, who claims that the rapper has used a sample of Black Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’ on his upcoming album, ‘Vultures,’ without permission. West played the sample during a recent event where he promoted his album with Ty Dolla $ign at the United Center in Chicago. Osbourne states that although West initially asked for permission to sample it, he was ultimately “refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many.” Osbourne added that he wants no association with West.
West was previously accused of anti-Semitism in October 2022 after posting on both Twitter and Instagram, leading to suspensions of his accounts. Following the allegations, West was dropped by his lawyer, talent agency, and record label, while several fashion brands, including Balenciaga and Adidas, terminated their deals with him. West issued an apology to the Jewish community on December 26, where he said that it was not his intention to hurt or disrespect, and he regretted causing pain. He also expressed his commitment to making amends and promoting greater understanding.
Though NME has reached out to representatives of West for comment, he has so far remained silent on the issue. Meanwhile, celebrities and politicians around the world have condemned his comments, and West maintains his stance of not believing in the term of antisemitism. The controversy surrounding West is ongoing, and the extent of its impact on his career remains to be seen
