Last night, American rock band Blink-182 commenced their first Australian tour in a decade and played in the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. The band’s performance saw them debut their upcoming album One More Time, by playing new songs such as “Fuck Face” and “Turpentine,” as well as playing “Anthem Part 3” in full. While the group performed classic hits such as “The Rock Show” and “Feeling This,” the debut of the new songs was a notable moment for fans of the band.
Blink-182 last performed in Australia in 2013 during the Soundwave festival. At that time, Travis Barker, the band’s drummer, missed the tour due to his phobia of flying. Since then, he has not played alongside fellow band members Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge in Australia. Therefore, this tour marks his first return in two decades. The group will play more shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, and Christchurch before concluding the tour.
NME rated Blink-182’s album One More Time with three stars, noting that their first album together in over ten years sees the trio looking at the sad truth of their reunion with regret. The album is said to be doused in sentimentality, but not exactly revolutionary. With this tour, however, the band’s fans can expect to experience the same playful energy that led Blink-182’s success earlier in their career.
Reading & Leeds Festival also announced Blink-182 as the headliner for their upcoming festival edition. While the band continues to promote their reunion album, their upcoming tour gives fans the chance to see them perform live, with some of them experiencing the group’s new songs for the very first time
