Prince Harry settles phone hacking claim with Mirror group

Prince Harry has been awarded a substantial payout by Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) over his phone hacking case. The latest payout relates to unlawful intrusion claims on 115 more stories, which could have resulted in a further trial if a settlement was not reached. David Sherborne, Prince Harry’s barrister, told the High Court that MGN would pay the royal a significant additional sum as well as his legal costs.

In a statement, Prince Harry called for the authorities to uphold the rule of law and prove that no one is above it. He also mentioned former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan, stating that he knew what was going on and that his contempt for the court’s ruling demonstrates why it was so important to obtain a clear and detailed judgment
