SM Entertainment, the South Korean entertainment company, has announced its lineup of releases for the second quarter of 2024. The preview features new music from popular K-pop groups aespa, Red Velvet, SHINee, and more. In the SM Entertainment Q4 2023 Earnings Release report, the company revealed a slew of planned album, mini-album, and single releases from several of its artists in the specified period.
At the top of the list is girl group aespa, who are expected to release a brand-new full-length album. The quartet were initially scheduled to drop the record in the first quarter of 2024 according to a previous earnings release report from SM Entertainment. However, the release was postponed.
In addition to aespa, girl group Red Velvet, boybands RIIZE, SHINee, and WayV, and EXO’s Suho are all scheduled to release new mini-albums. RIIZE are also expected to release a single in the same period. Solo artists BoA and Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation will also release singles in the second quarter of 2024. Additionally, boybands NCT Dream and NCT Wish will drop new Japanese singles around the same time.
While Doyoung of NCT will release new music, the format is yet to be confirmed. In other K-pop news, Hyoyeon, who performs solo under the moniker DJ HYO, has announced her 2024 ‘Cherry Blossom’ US tour, featuring shows in Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, and more.
SM Entertainment is one of South Korea’s largest entertainment companies and is known for producing popular artists and groups both inside and outside of Korea.
