Keen Games, the developers behind the action survival game Enshrouded, have provided beginners with essential tips to navigate through the game. Enshrouded was the most-playlisted game during Steam Next Fest 2023, with over 1.5 million players since its January launch. The fantasy game is a crafting RPG where players progress by levelling up, gaining skills points through exploration and experience points through monster hunting or mining minerals.
The developers advise players to keep themselves upgraded with vital equipment by interacting with class-specific NPCs, and unlocking new locations by climbing to the top of ancient towers to discover journal entries. Hunting dangerous monsters is one of the most conducive ways of levelling up quickly.
To increase flame levels and better resist the dangers in the game, players can charge them up at special altars, without which a red shroud will indicate that the flame is too low for the area and lead to the player’s death. The video presented by Keen Games explains the importance of resin in the crafting of armour and defence mechanisms. They suggest players collect as much Resin as possible from brown-leaved trees; cultivating flax from seed beds and mining minerals also helps.
Keen Games adds that players should keep a hold of their older gear as it can benefit others who are just starting to play Enshrouded. The game description states that players start with nothing except for their survival instinct, and must scavenge through the ruins of a lost kingdom, exploring forests, caves, and dungeons, all while fending off beasts that seek to devour them. Ultimately, they must build up their strength to fight against the horrors in the Shroud’s depths.
