Bloc Party, the London-based band, has released their rare 2004 EP ‘Little Thoughts’ on various streaming platforms for the first time. They also announced two new live dates for 2024, which will take place at The Telegraph Building in Belfast on July 4 and the 3Arena in Dublin on July 5. Fans will be able to purchase tickets for these shows starting next Friday, February 16.
The band’s 20th-anniversary gig where they’ll play their first album, “Silent Alarm,” in full will be held in Crystal Palace and is considered the most significant headline concert for Kele Okereke and the rest of the band to date. This gig will feature The Hives in an exclusive performance along with other groups like Friendly Fires, The Mysterines, and Connie Constance for support.
Last December, Bloc Party confirmed that they would release rare songs, deep cuts, and fan favourites for streaming services, starting with the Little Thoughts’ EP. The fans can now listen to the full EP which includes five tracks: ‘Little Thoughts,’ ‘Skeleton,’ ‘Storm And Stress,’ ‘Helicopter,’ and ‘Tulips.’ Additionally, there is a Minotaur Shock remix of ‘Tulips’ included in this collection.
Frontman Okereke, in an interview with NME last year, expressed gratitude that ‘Silent Alarm’ connected so well with people but also noted that he could hear things that he would do differently if given the opportunity to produce the album again. Bloc Party released their latest album, ‘Alpha Games,’ in 2022 and will continue to release all missing songs, remixes, and EPs on streaming services throughout 2024. They last supported Paramore in their UK and Ireland tour in 2023
