Polari label owner Cormac has shared a new VA compilation titled ‘No Tears In The Backroom Vol. 2’, which is jam-packed with synth-heavy swings, acid basslines, heated vocals and a mix of old and new faces to the label. The collection taps into nostalgia while remaining in a modern context, taking on full-throttle club music. By listening to the compilation as a whole, Cormac hopes that it will take the listener on a journey, much like how he curates a DJ set. He does, however, say that the individual tracks also work individually.
The compilation features tracks from Polari regulars like Jordan Nocturne, ROTCIV, and Louis de Tomaso, as well as introducing some new talent to the roster such as DJ City, Nimmo, Shay Shaz, Hifi Sean, Joshua James, and Xols. The label will donate the profits from the compilation to the charity Doctors Without Borders. The group’s primary aim is to treat people in the areas of the world where they are most needed, with a focus on Gaza, where the charity is currently most active.
‘No Tears In The Backroom Vol. 2’ is now available on Polari, so check it out. Also, you might want to take note that Cormac recently launched a new record label called Polari, with Kiwi as its first release. Niamh Ingram is Mixmag’s Weekend Editor, and you can follow her on Instagram
