Lush, a British cosmetics company, has taken inspiration from the bathtub scene in the recent film Saltburn to produce a new bath bomb. The scene, which saw the character of Oliver Quick drinking the remaining bathwater after seeing the character Felix Catton pleasuring himself in the bath, was described by many as “traumatising”. Despite this, Lush has created the ‘saltbomb’, which promises “salty, milky bath water”. The product contains a blend of coconut milk powder and mineral-rich coarse sea salt, shares a fragrance with Lush’s all-year-round moisturising bubble bar, Milky Bath, and retails at £5.

Saltburn stars Barry Keoghan as Oliver Quick, a middle-class interloper who pretends to be a scholarship student from a working-class background to strike up a friendship with Jacob Elordi’s wealthy aristocrat, Felix Catton, at Oxford University. After becoming close, Felix invites Oliver to spend the summer at Saltburn, his family’s large mansion in the British countryside. The two characters strike up a complicated relationship, which leads to the now-infamous bathtub scene.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ features in another notorious scene in the film – the ending. The renewed popularity of the classic song resulted in it surging to Number Two in the UK Singles Chart. Following the success of the film, TikTok users have been travelling to the real-life stately home used in the shooting. The film aims to satirise the absurdity of the lives of the upper classes, but despite this, many social media users have been using the dance moves of the main character, Oliver, from the end of the film as an excuse to show off their own lavish homes.
