Police have reported that nine individuals, both police officers and children, were taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a suspected corrosive substance attack in South London. Medical staff initially treated a woman and her two children before also turning their attention to others who had attempted to help. Currently, three police officers are believed to possess minor injuries, while the culprit responsible for the attack is yet to be apprehended.

Detective Superintendent Alexander Castle spoke to reporters, stating that while substance analysis tests were still underway, it was strongly suspected that the chemical involved in the incident was corrosive. There are unconfirmed reports that a traffic collision involving a group of assailants may be linked to the attack.

Police helicopters are sweeping the area as part of the ongoing search for the individual responsible, with London Assembly Member Marina Ahmad also giving her take on the situation. Still, the authorities have not yet released a statement on the conditions of those hurt in the episode.
