Australian rock band AC/DC is expected to perform an upcoming tour in Brazil later this year, according to reports. Brazilian publication O Globo has reported that the band is scheduled to perform four shows in the country, scheduled to take place at the Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo and Rock In Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro. However, no official ticketing details have been announced yet.
These performances may form part of a wider tour, as a German mayor recently revealed that AC/DC is set to embark on a tour of Europe in 2024, with a show set for Munich’s Olympic Stadium on June 12 of that year. In addition to these tour reports, AC/DC fans recently launched a campaign to get the band’s classic track ‘Highway To Hell’ to the Christmas Number One, to celebrate 50 years of the band’s existence. The campaign was to thwart LadBaby, who have claimed the Christmas Number One for five years running. However, Wham! ended up snatching the title nearly four decades after the song was first released.
Finally, it has been recently announced that Colin Burgess, the original drummer for AC/DC, has passed away at the age of 77. AC/DC paid tribute to Burgess on social media, stating that he was their “first drummer and a very respected musician”. The cause of Burgess’s death has yet to be disclosed
