Squarepusher announces first album in four years, ‘Dostrotime’

Squarepusher revealed that his 12-track studio album ‘Dostrotime’ will be available on March 1, 2024, on Warp Records. It is his first album in over four years since the January 2020 release of ‘Be Up a Hello’. The album will be available in CD, double LP, and digital versions accompanied by a brand new video for the single ‘Wendorlan’ which was made using a CRT oscilloscope by Squarepusher himself in one take and comes with a strobe warning.

The album tracklist features tracks’ names such as Stromcor, Akkranen, and Heliobat and can be pre-ordered directly from Squarepusher’s website. The producer previously made remixes for artists such as Danny Elfman, Deftones, and GoGo Penguin.

Squarepusher, whose real name is Tom Jenkinson, shared that the recording coincided with the lockdown of 2020. He said that it “partly stands out as a remarkable time because of its novel, eerie, sublime silence.” During this time, he found peace and important moments to record his music without distractions.

According to the producer, he was filming the single’s announcement clip with the oscilloscope and needed custom processing to generate the sound. The clip shows the incredible capabilities of the oscilloscope and Squarepusher’s expertise in music production.

Squarepusher is already at work on another video for ‘Dostrotime,’ and hopes to release the album to his audience in the coming months
