British popstar Charli XCX is set to make her return to Boiler Room, announcing a line-up that includes A.G. Cook, George Daniel (from The 1975) and Easyfun, with more special guests to be unveiled in the future. The Boiler Room rave is set to take place on 22 February, although tickets have yet to be made available. Charli XCX previously streamed her first live performance of pandemic-inspired album How I’m Feeling Now in 2020 via Boiler Room. In a review of that event, NME wrote: “That crown might not be hers but, despite this show’s flaws, she’s clearly still the queen of all things partying. We’re counting down the days til we don’t have to rely on a stable server to reap the benefits of that.”
The announcement comes as Charli XCX is reportedly working on new music with her fiancé George Daniel, and has also reportedly written songs for Britney Spears’ upcoming album. The Sun quoted a source saying of Charli’s involvement in the album: “Charli has a great track record when it comes to writing clever pop songs. She went into the studio earlier in the year to make some songs using Britney’s guidance of what she is after. She came up with a really strong track that is expected to make it on to the album, which Britney’s team hope will be out in 2024.”
Charli has also been nominated for a BRIT Award for Best Pop Act. Other nominees for the awards ceremony can be found on the NME website
