Having just announced a series of shows in Europe and the UK for this spring, The Kid Laroi is set to return to the stage after the release of his debut album in November. The Australian-born rapper, who is currently based in Los Angeles, will perform at London’s Alexandra Palace and Manchester’s O2 Apollo in April. The shows will be part of a larger tour, which includes gigs in countries such as Sweden, Norway, France and Italy amongst others. Fans can expect a high-energy performance from the young artist, who expressed his excitement about the tour, saying, “I’m so excited to bring the tour to my EU/UK fans. I promise it’ll be worth the wait! I love you all and I’ll see you very soon.”
The Kid Laroi was set to tour his home countries, Australia and New Zealand in February but postponed the tour due to logistical difficulties. The tour has been rescheduled for October 2024. “We tried to make February work but it’s proving to be logistically impossible,” the artist said in a statement. “I’m sorry to make you wait a bit longer but we will need to move the tour to October. We’re working on the details including some new additions to the line up and will let you know ASAP.”
Critics gave The Kid Laroi’s debut album ‘The First Time’ a three-star rating, as it mostly talks about heartbreak and fame. The LP’s final track “Kids Are Growing Up” was the first time the artist addressed themes other than his own personal issues of love and success. Here, Howard spoke candidly about his journey from stanning to stardom and the impact it had on both his family and those closest to him. The song marked an emotional breakthrough for Howard, reflecting a maturity in his music that he had not previously shown.
In a recent interview, The Kid Laroi opened up about his admiration for K-pop stars BTS, revealing that he “[wished he] had gotten into them a little sooner.” His love for their music shows how diverse his influences are, adding a fresh perspective to the upcoming tour and pointing to the artist’s keen sense of musical exploration. The tour’s imminent success is without a doubt, and with more developments soon to surface about the events happening later this year, it is a matter of time before fans experience the energy of the ‘For the First Time’ tour first hand.
