The Cause announces completion of 60 Dock Road after 18 months

The Cause has finally finished constructing its new home at 60 Dock Road, East London, after relocating to the site 18 months ago. The venue recently celebrated its completion with a flagship party featuring sets from the likes of Optimo, Binh, and Suze Ijó, among others. “Our house is finally built and you’re all welcome, so come on in,” the official event description on RA read.

During the construction phase, the venue’s team had been “testing and tweaking” the space ready for the grand opening. Over the last 18 months, the location has welcomed numerous acts, including Disclosure, Nia Archives, Fred Again, Jayda G, and Ross From Friends. Known as The Cause 2.0, the new space features five indoor rooms, a large outdoor courtyard area, and a state-of-the-art soundsystem, which has been designed by the original team from its Tottenham previous venue. Sensory Studio, Martin Audio, and Noise Control Audio provide the lighting.

Despite the shiny new upgrades, The Cause promises to deliver the same original vibe that its loyal patrons have come to love. Co-founder Stuart Glen told Instagram users the new venue is operating under a temporary contract for a space that was previously vacant. “Enjoy it whilst it lasts,” he said. The new venue will see a host of operations during the week making use of the ‘meanwhile-space’, such as start-ups, creative enterprises, and artist projects, to name just a few.

The venue has revealed the line-up for 2024, which includes BLUMITSU, Special Request, Tim Reaper, Sully, Katya, Evian Christ, Dr Rubinstein, SICARIA, and Michelle Manetti, among others. The labyrinth-like rave mecca will welcome several UK parties, including Adonis, Evian Christ’s Trance Party, and Wigflex’s 18th Birthday, as well as newcomers 2CPerrea and Whoosh Weng. The bill of residents will be revealed next week. The full line-ups can be found on supportthecause.co.uk
