The BBC’s popular reality series The Traitors has come to an end, with Harry Clark crowned the winner and taking home the £95,150 prize money. Clark, who had been a traitor since the first episode, managed to fly under the radar and went largely undetected throughout the series. In the final episode, both faithful Mollie Pearce and Clark voted to eliminate Jaz Singh, leaving them as the last remaining players.
Despite coming close to being eliminated himself, Clark managed to hold on and ultimately emerged victorious. However, as Pearce failed to identify Clark as a traitor despite Singh voting to banish him, she did not receive any of the prize money. Reflecting on his win, Clark said, “I just won £95,000. I underestimated this massively, you come here and there’s 22 amazing people, and from the off I’ve been a traitor.”
After his victory, Clark also spoke about wanting to regain Pearce’s trust, calling her the reason he was on the show. He acknowledged that admitting the truth to her had been the “hardest thing ever”. Meanwhile, Pearce, who had vowed not to speak to Clark again if he were revealed as a traitor, said she thought he had played an “amazing game” and that she couldn’t hate him forever.
The Traitors sees contestants try to work out who among them are traitors, with one of their number being ‘murdered’ each night. Banished contestants are replaced by new players, making it difficult for the faithfuls to work out who the traitors are. The series has been a resounding success for the BBC, with several episodes attracting an audience of over six million.
