London-based DJ and producer Hunee has just announced his residency at Phonox for five consecutive Fridays in March. The residency is Hunee’s first in the UK since his stint at East London’s XOYO in 2019. Hunee’s residency will feature a curated line-up of talented DJs hand-picked by the artist, with the list of appearances to be confirmed in the upcoming weeks.
Hunee, who has previously performed all night long at Phonox towards the end of 2023, will take over the South London nightclub entirely during his upcoming residency. His first appearance at the Brixton venue dates back eight years to when he first played at the club. The takeover was labelled by the venue as “a club that feels like home, a crowd that feels like family, and a party where the music matters.”
Before his residency at Phonox, Hunee will perform alongside DJ Amir for a one night only event at Paris’s La Bellevilloise. Later in the year, Hunee is set to perform at Sun & Snow Weekend in Granada, Spain and the Amsterdam-based festival Lentekabinet ’24 in May.
Currently, Romare is Phonox’s resident DJ, supported by other revered artists such as Mytron, Nail, Tarzsa, and OITO//OITO with his closing party including sets from Cody Currie, and Amanda Baun. For February, Peach will be Phonox’s resident DJ each Friday, enlisting the likes of C.K, ISAbella, Livwutang and DJ Sports, alongside a special guest who is yet to be announced.
Hunee’s Phonox residency is confirmed for March, and those interested can sign up for presale here. Speaking about his residency, Hunee said that as an artist, he wanted to provide a space where “many generations could discover new sounds and dance,” and Phonox was the perfect place to do so
