Maidstone: Man and woman killed by car while walking dog

A couple and their dog have tragically lost their lives following a fatal collision whilst on a walk. The incident, which occurred in the village of Bearsted near Maidstone, involved a black BMW X5, which struck the pedestrians in its path at around 1:40 pm GMT on Saturday. Both victims, in their sixties, as well as the dog, passed away due to the collision.

Kent Police disclosed that, as of yet, no arrests have been made. However, the driver of the BMW remained at the scene of the incident, as they investigate “the circumstances of the collision”. They have called for any witnesses or parties with information to come forward.

The particular location of the collision was along the rural Thurnham Lane, a road that heads out of the village. Emergency services were at the scene, and Kent police released a statement urging residents of the town to help in any way they can.

The situation is a tragic one, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of those affected. Those with any details are being asked to share them with the Kent police, who will continue to lead the investigation
